Inspired by the natural behavior of sunflowers that turn toward the sun, ICSTATION has developed a creative soldering project — the Light-Chasing Sunflower. This innovative design incorporates the concept of phototropism, allowing the artificial sunflower to follow the direction of light just like its real counterpart
Working Principle:
The DIY sunflower project features 2 light sensors positioned on either side of the flower. These sensors detect the intensity of incoming light and send signals to a microcontroller, which then activates a motor to rotate the flower in the direction of the stronger light source. This dynamic response allows the flower to mimic the natural behavior of real sunflowers.
Bidirectional Rotation:
Unlike traditional motors that can only rotate in a single direction—either left or right, ICSTATION has equipped the sunflower soldering project with a bidirectional motor capable of rotating freely in both directions. This adds a significant level of flexibility and realism to the design, especially for applications like the Sun-Chasing Sunflower, where precise tracking of a light source requires smooth back-and-forth motion.
RGB LED Lights:
To elevate the visual experience of the sunflower project, a vibrant ring of RGB LED lights has been integrated into the base of the flower. These multicolor LEDs not only add a striking aesthetic effect but also make the project more interactive and engaging.
Battery Powered:
The rotating sunflower soldering project is powered by 2 AA batteries (Not Included), allowing you to enjoy it anytime, whether indoors or outdoors. Its portability and low power consumption make it ideal for DIY enthusiasts, students, or anyone interested in learning electronics.
